Motorola has recently launched Moto G8 Power Lite a month ago in India. It is their latest budget Android smartphone . The offering they have made through that handset is completely competitive to Realme Narzo 10(Read it’s review). The main feature highlighted by the company is big battery life and display.
Moto G8 Power Lite Design
Moto G8 Power Lite comes with a body of thickness 9.2 mm and is weighed 200 grams . The body is completely made of plastic and has a quite attractive matte finish. There are no unrational edges or bumps at the corners. the two most widely used colour variants are Royal Blue colour and Artic Blue Shade with a similar gradient finish.
With most of phone companies removing headphone jacks , it’s great to have one in Moto G8 Power Lite. The handset has space for two Nano-SIMs and a microSD card at the side tray. The speakers has been moved to back at the bottom left corner. The phone comes with three cameras and a fingerprint sensor embedded with a Motorola logo. If we talk collectively, the Moto G8 Power Lite has a powerful and simple design, which is great.
The Motorola company claims that the phone can take splashes of water and even bear with light rain and still work fine.
The fingerprint sensor works fine and open the phone quickly. And there is no option for face unlock too.
Moto G8 Power Lite has a screen of 6.5 inch IPS TFT LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The bezels are quite thick and the display at corners are rounded at corner. The brightness is on the lesser side and has to be kept very high even indoors. The low resolution is not ideal to use. Content is only visible under only bright light. The reflective glass and smudges can makes it very tricky to use.
Moto G8 Power Lite Performance
The general performance has been fine. The phone still works on Android 9 Pie but the company has promised the update to Android 10 very soon. The Android is refreshing to use but it can become a little bit boring if you are used to Samsung’s One UI. tHe Google Suite apps are already installed. The gesture setting are great and can be changed from Settings app.
It comes with a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It works on MediaTek Helio P35 SoC . At this price the processor and the configuration is fine.
Most social media apps and simple games run perfectly but if you are looking to play PUBG Mobile , then you are not going to have the best experience. There is also a distortion in audio at higher levels and clarity is also not too good as well whether playing game or listening to music.
Moto G8 Power Lite Battery
Moto G8 Power has 5000 mAh batttery. You get a 10W rapid charger nut it isn’t fast enough. In our HD video loop test , it ran for more than 15 hours which is great. It took nearly 2 hours to charge completely.
Moto G8 Power Lite Camera
This handset comes with three rear camera. This include a 16-megapixel sensor with PDAF as a primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There’s an 8 megapixel selfie camera . The camera app doesn’t have any frills.
It takes a couple of seconds to capture and save portrait photos. The camera works fine and is also pretty good . Make sure to put HDR option to Auto, as default. Though, camera is unable to keep up in low light.
The handset can record video up to 1080p which looks fine however the image quality is just about average even in the presence of good lights.
Is Moto G8 Power Lite right work for you?
With the simple design, large display and good battery life , this handset comes at Rs 8,999. The camera is not too good but works fine with appropriate lights. Though you can easily get a better handset at just Rs 1000 added to this price.
