JBL Go Review 2018: The Best in Class Portable

Bluetooth Speaker?

Right from the retro age where JBL introduced their first Bluetooth speakers, I am a fan of the design department. Yes, the design of the JBL goes is sleek, robust and boasts excellent durability criteria.

In addition, it comes with a minimalistic boxy design which looks pleasant in almost every way.

What about the colour section of JBL GO?

When it comes to the color section, JBL Go comes in the whopping list of colors which are as follows:

  • Black
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Pink
  • Blue
  • Grey
  • Yellow
  • Teal

Can’t-Miss:

What about the dimensions of the JBL Go?

Seeing the dimensions of the JBL Go, it turns out to be “82.50 x 29.95 x 67.91mm. Hence, with these dimensions, the JBL Go can eventually fit into a trouser pocket with ease.

Though, the weight is more on the higher side of 222g but still is manageable to some good extents.

JBL go review: What about the surface design?

Visualizing the surface design will eventually bring the plastic factor into the limelight.

Yes, there is the presence of a tough plastic with some rubber finish making the speaker look premium.

Here, the rubber finish is spread on every other edge as well as the rear section.

Moving on towards the front side, it contains a perforated grille through which you are able to listen to music.

Further, right on the top, there are different controls which are as follows:

  • Power
  • Bluetooth
  • Volume Up
  • Volume Down
  • Speakerphone

In addition, the markings are of the same color which makes it pretty difficult sometimes to press in dark conditions.

But, the buttons are a little bit raised which makes it easy to press and navigate through them.

Moving aside from the surface level design department, let us dig a little deep and discover some more essential information. Further, there is a 3.55mm input jack which comes with a Micro-USB Port and even a microphone.

In addition, there are two holes for the lanyard to loop into the left. Section. Right on the front, you will see the JBL Logo in Bold written in Orange color.

A Take on the JBL GO Driver

The JBL Go comes with a 40mm driver which has its operation in the frequency range of 180Hz to 20KHz. Hence, with this, it really cannot achieve low-frequency sub-bass sounds.

However, we will check the performance criteria in the next section to give you a complete overview for the same.

Further, pairing the JBL go, with your mobile phone is a fair easy process. Yes, it can hold up to connections even at a distance of 3m.

Hence, if there is no obstruction in between, you will get a crisp and clearer sound from JBL Go Bluetooth speaker.

JBL go review: Performance

JBL go review

Firstly, after testing different soundtracks on the JBL Go, I am quite impressed by the sound on this mighty beast. In our testing, the JBL Go easily rocked a 200 sq. ft room with a volume note to spare.

In addition, the mids, lows and the high sounds above the frequency of 180Hz were crisp, detailed and loud.

However, there is one music track which not every Bluetooth speaker can play with perfection.

Well, can’t guess? It is none other than “Do I Wanna Know” by the Arctic Monkeys. Especially, right in the end section of the song, instruments are pretty much layered together.

But, when it comes to the JBL go 2018, the cards were changed and we saw a whole different dimension. It did a brilliant job of separating the sounds of different instruments.

Finally, the JBL Go really surprised me with the amazing tight mid-range sound whenever I played this song.

With the availability of mid-range responses, dialogue from the movies is clearly hearable.

In addition, like almost every Bluetooth speaker, you can hear good sound from one side and a little less from the other.

JBL go review: Battery Test

To let you know more about the JBL Go Bluetooth speaker, I even performed the battery test.

Here, in this section, I was pretty much amazed and will be sharing my experiences with you.
